Though it's not the most scientific method, I thought I would point out that today, December 21, 2004, a simple search of GoogleNews for "mccain 2008" produced 552 hits.

As if that alone was not blog-worthy, the substance of the articles is more important than the sheer number of hits.

CNN has this piece from December 13th.
NewsMax (yech!) has this piece from December 20th.
The best newspaper in the world has this piece from December 20th as well.
